I bought these mostly for astronomical viewing and for that, they are wonderful. Planets show good color and size. Stars are pinpoints. The Orion Nebula shows well. The image is nice and clean out to the periphery of the view. There was a little colorization of Jupiter, but not obnoxious.
I took them out into the Sonoran Desert and distant mountain and rock formations showed great detail, both day and night. Earthshine on the moon was stunning. I have yet to mount them on a tripod, but could see where that would be advantageous. These baby's are fairly heavy. You need to hold on with both hands, and steady yourself for a non-wobbly view. They are great if you like driving to a lookout and viewing, but would not be good for backpacking or going on walks. The skinny strap that comes with them is strong enough, but you won't find yourself letting them dangle from your neck for very long. Sitting at a table, reclining in a chair, leaning against a car or tree (not a cactus) makes for great viewing in an optical instrument that packs well in your carry on suitcase. For the price, they surpassed my expectations.

I love using this product to view the stars, especially in the milky way region. The clear focus and light gathering ability makes it one of my favorite binoculars! Even the size of it (10.5 in long) is not a negative feature i would say.
