Frequently Asked Questions

1 - 3 of 3

Q1: I need to replace a 10x50 Celestron PRO series binocular with fully multi coated optics. The one that was damaged was perfect for me. I used it for astronomy and general land uses. What do you recommend? Price range of $75-$150. Does this replace the PRO series? Thank you Dave

A: This binocular is an excellent choice for both astronomical and terrestrial uses. This binoculars big advantage is that it has built in Light Poluttion reduction filters. This is not the replacement version of the PRO but is a very good replacement.

Q2: Is this binocular good for viewing horse racing?

A: Celestron 10X50 OptiView LPR Polarized binoculars should work just fine for a day at the track.

Q3: Does the 10x50 Celestron Optiview have a diopter adjustment and is there one on each eyepiece? Thanks.

A: Celestron 10x50 OptiView LPR binoculars have a diopter adjustment on the right ocular only.

Optimized optics!

Celestron 10x50 OptiView LPR binoculars offer optimal viewing. They have have built-in light pollution reduction (LPR) filters designed to reduce transmission of light wavelengths produced by artificial light, including that produced by most city street lights. In addition, they block unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. sky glow).

As a result, OptiView LPR binoculars darken the background sky, making deep-sky observation of nebulae, star clusters and even galaxies possible from urban areas!

OptiViews block:

  • Mercury-vapor light;

  • Low-pressure sodium-vapor light,

  • High-pressure sodium-vapor light.

    OptiViews transmit these wavelengths:

  • Hydrogen alpha;

  • Hydrogen beta;

  • Doubly ionized oxygen,

  • Ionized nitrogen.

    OptiViews' selective light transmission will even improve views of emission nebulae, both from urban and rural settings. Objects that will show improved contrast include: the Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy and the Lagoon Nebula.

    Celestron OptiView LPR filters are made of high-quality, flat, polished, optical glass with more than 40 layers of coating. They're also protected with a broadband, anti-reflection coating to prevent ghosting and improve contrast.

    Celestron OptiView 10x50 binoculars carry a limited lifetime warranty. That means they'll give optimal viewing pleasure for a long, long time!

    For vibration-free viewing, choose the Zhumell Professional Tripod.
