Q1: at how many yards away can you make out a persons face?
A: Unfortunately, that's a question we can't answer, as it depends on individual eyesight. What binoculars do is magnify, making it seem as though objects are closer than they actually are. You can get a good idea of the distance at which you can make out a person's face by seeing how far away you can recognize the face, then multiplying that distance by 8, which is the magnifying power of the Atrek 8x42 DCG binoculars.
