Q1: I am considering this model or the trophy 8x42. Please can you tell me if this model is fully nitrogen purged and completely waterproof like the trophys? thanks

A: Yes this model is Nitrogen Purged and fully waterproof like the trophy's.

Q2: My son is heading down to the jungles of South America for some conservation work and requires binoculars. The advise given is that they should be 8x42, robst, waterproof/fogproof, weight is also an issue as there will be a lot of hiking involved and as always cost we were thinking around the $200.00 mark. We have sort of narrowed it down to the Bushnell models SKU:22-0842,SKU:23-8042. Brunton model SKU:5030W and the Minolta model SKU:8472-117 I would just like some expert advice on our list,ie what do you think? Best regards H.Harte

A: Bottom Line the overall best image and durability out of the ones you have selected is the Brunton. Whoever told you the 8x42 is the way to go knows exactly what they are talking about.
