Q1: Do I need a car (cigarette lighter) adapter to connect this to my Celestron Nexstar 4, or is the AC adapter listed for the telescope? Sorry, but the description is a bit confusing...
A: The Power Tank comes with everything you need to power the NexStar series telescopes. The Car Adapter is included with the power tank.
Q2: Does this recharge from power supply in the house and if so is the plug a 3 pin for UK use and how long does it last with the main light on with telescope plugged in?
A: The PowerTank for use in the UK may require a US to Euro adapter depending on your setup in your home. These adapters are very inexpensive. The PowerTank will power a telescope for 30+ hours. The light will dramatically reduce this, but you would not want the light on while observing. This unit is fantastic for using your telescope where a cord is not convenient. It also saves so much money on batteries!
Q3: How many hours does the battery or the power tank last?
A: It will depend on the scope that is being used and the draw the telescope has. Most of the basic GOTO telescopes will operate for 30+ hours on the PowerTank.
Q4: I have a Celestron C 10 N reflector telescope - which has never seen use as we are preparing a permanent place for its use. Will the Power Tank 12V Power Supply work with it. Do I need an adapter?
A: The Power Tank power supply will work just fine with the C10N GT telescope; no adapter will be needed.
Q5: I have a Meade DS114, which has a 15V electronic drive motor. Is there an adapter that will allow me to use the Power Tank as a power source?
A: The Power Tank should serve very well. The Meade folks assure us that the DS-114's electronics will do just fine with a 12-volt power supply.
Q6: I have misplaced the AC 15V charging adapter. Can I order a replacement adapter?
A: Replacement parts are available directly from Celestron. Here's the URL of their customer support page so you can make arrangements. Just paste the URL into your browser's address window: http://www.celestron.com/support/sup-req.php
Q7: If I have a Celestron 130 NexStar SLT do I need to get the #607 power cord because I already bought this product and it does not come with that power cord, do I need to get it?
A: You don't need the Meade #607 power cord if you have a Celestron telescope. Instead, you'll want the Car Battery Adapter for all Nexstars. Here's the URL; just paste it into your browser's address window: http://telescopes.com/products/celestron-car-battery-adapter-for-all-nexstars-12047.html.
Q8: Is the AC adapter rated for 220V ?
A: The AC adapter is 110 Volts.
