The Perfect Accessories
Q1: I have DS114 would like lens to revers image. Can you help?
A: Yes. All you need is an erect image prism. We have the prism you need listed under our item number MEAD073.
Q2: What does EQ mean?
A: EQ indicates that the telescope has an Equatorial mount. Basically there are two types of mounts. One is the altazimuth, which basically just allows the telescope to be trained up and down (altitude) and left to right (azimuth). The advantages to this type of mount are that it's easy to handle and works for both land and sky observation. The second kind is the Equatorial mount. It, too, moves on two axes, but the axes can be tilted to conform to the Earth's axis. It's akin to placing a telescope with an altazimuth mount on a tilted table. It allows a telescope to track objects accurately across the sky as the Earth rotates out from "under" them. This type of mount is great for astronomy but doesn't work worth a darn for viewing ground objects.
Q3: Which drive is available for this scope?
A: Unfortunately there is no drive available for the Meade 114EQ-AR Equatorial Reflector telescope.
