I wanted a high quality spotting scope but I also did not want to shell out $1200 + if I did not have to. In my search I looked at ZEISS, STEINER and others... they did not disappoint to provide outstanding products. What I have found through my research is that NIKON is comparable quality but for a far more reasonable price. I took my NIKON PROSTAFF 20-60x82 Spotting Scope and a pair 12x50 NIKON Extreme Action Binoculars to Yellowstone /Grand Tetons this year and they provided spectacular views of flora and fauna. I love my informed choice in optics.

    This is definately an excellent value in a lower priced scope for a casual user. As a first time scope buyer I wanted a quality product that would not disapoint but also not break the bank. This scope fits my needs and should provide years of fun wildlife viewing and target practice. Good optics and design.
