My wife and I are amateur birders and replaced our 15-45x60 Leupold scope with the Zhumell. What a huge difference. Watched bald eagles that we could just barely see with the other scope and were able to look into their eyes with the Zhumell. Another viewer there had a much more expensive scope and we compared. Yes, the lenses are brighter and a little clearer but not thousands of dollars worth, which is the difference in the costs of both scopes. We are very happy with our new scope and I am ordering a Zhumell pair of binoculars today because we are so so please with the Zhumell product.
I have terminal cancer and do not get out often, but when I do I will be able to appreciate nature Close-up. Thanks

Although I think this is a good scope in this price range, I was less than thrilled with the focus and clarity at max magnification, especially in low light conditions. But I got it for bird watching, where low light situations are common - under the more controlled conditions of a shooting range it would probably be great.

Comments about Zhumell 22-68x90mm Superior Spotting Scopes:

Just received my 80mm Zhumell Spotting scope and I am truly amazed at the high quality of That Zhumell product! I compared this to another manufacturer's 80mm ed spotting scope and the sharpness, contrast and zoom of each are similar in quality. The fully multicoated objective is flawless in both, and brightness very similar which shows me the optical "train" is excellent in both. The Zhumell's zoom eyepiece is much better than others included in more expensive scopes also. I cranked up the power to 50X and the sharpness in a tree over 200 yards away was impressive. Kidney beaning noticeable if you don't center your eye in the eyepiece, though. Heck, even my $300 eyepiece exhibits kidney beaning in my very high end astronomical telescope, so it didn't bother me. Observed with and without my glasses and the FOV was very good to excellent in both cases. Excellent eye relief! If I didn't know that this was a $120 dollar scope I would have believed it cost $500 or more! That ED 80mm spotter was not more impressive than the Zhumell, and I can only infer that the Zhumell 90mm scope's quality is just as good as my 80mm scope. Noticed the 80 is no longer in stock! Too bad as I wanted to recommend it for a few friends looking for a quality 80mm spotter. Had to write this review for Zhumell spotters anyway! Will use this for birding, long distance critter viewing and casual astronomy. Grab the 90 while it is available for this low price!

Comments about Zhumell 22-68x90mm Superior Spotting Scopes:

The scope arrived and after testing, I determined that it is well constructed, has good optics, but has poor eye relief for eyeglass wearer with astigmatism. I had a difficult time obtaining good eye position. There is no real standard for rating eye relief. I have a pair of Canon 10 x 30 Image Stabilized Binoculars rated at only 14mm eye relief and have no problems.

Comments about Zhumell 22-68x90mm Superior Spotting Scopes:

I'm a longtime naturalist, birder, animal-watcher, and shooter. I've used binocs and spotting scopes for decades. I know good glass, and have owned both a Leupold and Vortex Razor spotter for years. I'd utilized a friend's Zhumell Superior spotter several years ago, and knew it was a good, decent scope. I found it a worthy scope at its $299 price, but when the price recently fell to about a third of that, I couldn't resist.

I mounted the Zhumell Superior onto a Bogen tripod that cost twice what the Zhumell did, and took a look. Dang! I took another look. Wow! Focusing on a distant brick-wall building, the focus resolved so that I was able to discern excellent detail. How could this be? I broke out my $1600 Vortex Razor spotter, on my other tripod, and put the two side by side.

I compared the two, and don't let me blow smoke up anybody's fanny, the Vortex Razor was the better scope. Slightly. Not "knock your socks off" better, but the Razor is one heck of a spotter. Do you know what? The Zhumell Superior gave it a run for its money. And what a run! $120 versus $1600. I'm not saying the two are equal, but I'll let you determine which is one helluva value for the money spent.

Run, don't walk, to pick up one of these Zhumell Superior spotters before they're gone.

    Customer Q & A

Q1: Can you get a car window mount for this scope?

A: Yes, this scope will work with any window mount that uses a standard 1/4" screw.

Q2: Does this scope use a BAK4 or 7 prism?

A: The Scope uses BaK-4 prism glass.

Q3: How much does the Zhumell 22-68x90mm Superior Spotting Scope weigh?

A: The weight of the spotting scope is 80oz.

Q4: I am interested in getting into both astronomy and land viewing and keep going back and forth between scopes and binocs. Is this a good choice to do both at a starting level? what would you recommend?

A: If you want to view land based objects, as well as do some light star viewing or planet viewing, the Zhumell 22-68x90mm Superior Spotting Scope would work out well.  With the variable zoom you would be able to take it down for doing some terrestrial viewing and you can zoom it right back up if you want to do some skyward viewing.  The 90mm aperture is larger than most spotting scopes, meaning that it will bring in more light when looking into the night sky.  And if you want to get deeper into space viewing, you can get a more powerful telescope and keep your spotting scope for land viewing.
