This is a great scope. Its small and pretty light(5 lbs) I have it on a Celestron Heavy Duty Tripod (AZ3) and it works perfectly. This is great for Terrestrial Views, Use at the gun range, and for Celestrial Viewing as well. I have got some great views of the Moon, Sun, Saturn, Jupiter, and some deep space objects like M31. Great scope for the price!

Just as good a view as the 4.5" Newtonian I used to own, but much more compact and easy to manuever around. I wanted something that could be used for terrestial and celestial and yet be easily carried around - this is it! I would recommend the one piece zoom lens available and the Celestron tripod with slow motion controls. Terrestial viewing is right side up image which is very very nice. Just a great functional scope for all around use. Even comes with a backpack. For my needs it is perfect.

I have had this C 90 spotting scope for about two weeks and I have put it through multiple tests. For terrestrial viewing is truly fantastic. For astronomy it performs just as good as two other six-inch and 10 inch telescopes I own. I could see the rings of Saturn extremely clear. I could see Jupiter and its cloud belts and surrounding moons. I have other expensive eyepieces, but the 32mm that it comes with is very good. I use an equatorial tripod mount for astronomic viewing, it is a little easier than just a tripod. That being said you can use a photo tripod for terrestrial and some astronomic viewing as long as it is not straight overhead. The C-90 is extremely well-built and the perfect size, I am very impressed.

A good magnification and a close focus (15 ft.) is really great for terrestrial, bird watching and astronomy. If you need more power, magnification is easily upgradable with extra eyepieces.
