this is a good prodoct it does have flaws, it will aid in vibration when used with a zoom lens and will work its self loose when using the zoom function but it does what it says it will do. I have a 10 in newtonian reflector and can see farther in space than even i anticipated. good products do what they say will and it does im happy with this lens

I bought the Ultima 2X Barlow to to complement my small array of plossl eyepieces in my 6" f/8 Dobsonian. Of course, it arrived right in the middle of the Winter cloudy season. Fortunately I lucked into two relatively clear nights to try it out. It was a cold, damp, icy, & moonlit; not exactly great seeing but still a good test of this barlow's optics. The optics are perfectly clear: no noticable aberations or fringing. Even on a bright moonlit evening I noted no reflections or "ghosts". You really don't notice it's there except for the extra length on the focuser. I tried it with my 25mm, 17mm, & 10mm plossls and the images were just as sharp and clear as when unbarlowed. It does what a good barlow should do: double the power of your 'scope without drawing attention to itself. Also, the fit and finish of this piece is excellent.

This 2x converter is a required purchase for anyone with a scope. It will double the eyepieces you already have, if you have a 25mm it will convert it to a 12.5mm,etc.

Excellent bang for your buck. Celestron managed to make an affordable, high quality, fully multi coated 3-element Barlow that introduces no spherical aberration. I used it with my Astromaster 130EQ with excellent results up to 10mm eyepiece. Anything below 10mm becomes a bit fuzzy and hard to focus. I recommend it to anyone on a beginner level.
