The Meade 2X, 1.25-inch Ultra TX TeleXtender is part of the new Series 5000 optical multiplier series. The new series includes the finest power multipliers sold today. Their advanced, four-element design delivers a flatter field-of-view with sharper edges than even the best three-element apochromatic Barlow lenses. And fully multi-coated lenses eliminate color fringing.

      After reading many reviews on cloudynights and other places I put this on my wishlist knowing it was good value compared to the green writing telecentric barlows in quality and cost. My wife recently surprised me with it and I'm very happy with the construction. Unfortunately, it has been cloudy and rainy so I have not had a chance to test it, but I'm looking forward to doing so very soon. If I can I'll try to update this with the results.

      Used a few nights ago under great conditions and worked fine. Been raining here for the past two days so i'm eager to use it again.

      Comes with bulky hard case to keep it in. Kinda nice and unnecessary at the same time.

          Meade Ultra TX TeleXtender 1.25 Inch Format

          I purchased both the 2X and 3X Meade Ultra TX TeleXtender in 1.25 Inch Format. I have been extremely happy with their performance. Do not confuse these with your standard Barlow lens; these lenses are in a different league using different technology. There are higher priced units available but for my needs these fit perfectly. I use them for both for observing and imaging and am very happy with the results I am getting and the great view they provide. These lenses are sturdy and well finished. I would place these in a great value for your money category.
