The Meade 3X, 1.25-inch Ultra TX TeleXtender is part of the new Series 5000 optical multiplier collection. The new series includes the finest power multipliers sold today. Their advanced, four-element design delivers a flatter field of view with sharper edges than even the best three-element apochromatic Barlow lenses. And fully multi-coated lenses eliminate color fringing.

        The first time I used it I took a super picture of Jupiter with Io very plainly in front of it. There are no aberations with it. I use it with my Celestron CPC 1000 telescope. It is extremely compact unlike [...] lenses.

        I use the 3x Barlow with my Meade 8" SCT when skies are steady to do imaging of the moon and planets. There is very little chromatic abberation and the image is crystal clear and sharp. Only con is that it's a bit heavy and care must be taken when inserting to the telescope to avoid unwanted movement. Would definitely recommend this for those who want higher power with their scopes.
