I expected more for the money, but the SCT fits and seems to be well protected.

Comments about Jims Mobile (JMI) Telescope Case for Celestron 8 Inch CPC Telescopes:
I bought one and paid to send it back.
The rims do not seal, the foam is very poor grade and/or quality, and it cannot be either dust or moisture proof.Indeed, from the appearance of the interior design it nearly funnels any dust or liquid into the telescope form. The wheel structure seems likely to pull through the fiberglass and the wheels are not big enough.
It is much too expensive even if these defects were not present.
It does appear to be sturdy enough to bear weight which is why I gave it two stars.

Comments about Jims Mobile (JMI) Telescope Case for Celestron 8 Inch CPC Telescopes:
Everything I said before is true, and I still recommend the case. However, the foam under the scope crushed to near-zero thickness (= "no padding") within six weeks. It's a medium density open cell type of foam, and can't bear that kind of static weight. I tore it out, and replaced it with a high density closed-cell material of equal thickness. The new foam doesn't crush, so my scope stays nicely padded. But really, JMI should have put better foam at the bottom to begin with.

Comments about Jims Mobile (JMI) Telescope Case for Celestron 8 Inch CPC Telescopes:
Very sturdy case, and good overall protection. Makes transport and storage a no-brainer. Highly recommended. A few minor negatives, but nothing to hold you back. The built-in eyepiece holders will work only for EPs not much bigger than the 1.25" barrel; otherwise, you have to cut bigger holes, but this is not a big deal. I found the stock 3" wheels to be too small. I removed them, added 3/8" bushings to the 1/4" shaft, and upgraded to 4" wheels from XYZ Hardware; much better. The case is not weatherproof, so don't leave it in the rain.

Q1: Are more detialed dimensions availble? I need to be able to determine it will fit in my car. sku: CASECPC8
A: Outside dimensions of the case are approximately 31-3/4 x 17-1/4 x 23-1/4 inches.
Q2: Is the die-cut foam in the top also? Can I get a view of the inside of the top? Is there a handle to pull it?
A: Yes, the top of the case has die-cut foam too, and there's a handle to pull it. We don't have a view of the top of this particular case, but it's similar to the one pictured in the following URL; just paste the URL into your browser's address window: http://www.jimsmobile.com/case_nexstar8_1.jpg.
