Astrozap is pleased to announce the addition of dew prevention heat bands to our product line!


What makes our dew heater band so special?


New printed circuit technology ensures even heat distribution!


Draws only ½ the amount of power versus other brand heaters


Each heater comes with a standard six-foot cord and phono-plug connector for 12-volt operation.


You will need an Astrozap dew controller for a power source.


Other brand controllers are fully compatible.

            This dew heater has helped me a great deal from ending my nights of viewing early or preventing my nights of imaging. I have a passive dew shields but they are almost useless in S.W. Missouri when the temps drop below freezing. This dew strip heater works great. I purchased 4 of them, 1 for eyepieses, 1 for my 80mm APO, 1 for my LX200 10" and 1 for my LX200 14". All of them had performed well. I've not had a problem with frost all winter. I definately recommend them for anyone who has dew and/or frost problems.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

              Sometimes passive dew control just doesn't cut it. If you live in a humid climate you most likely know what I mean. I've tried using other methods of dew control but it seemed that I was only delaying the problem.

              After buying some dewstraps from Telescopes.com I am no longer cutting my observing sessions short because of fogged up or just plain out soaked optics. As long as you have a controller to heat up the straps "which they also sell on this site" you will see that it's extremely easy to use. I'm now kind of upset that I waited this long to make the purchase!

              If I had to pick some cons I would have to say that having a couple dewstraps hooked up will leave a mess of wires that you could get caught up in. I fixed this issue "if you even want to call it that" with some twisty ties.

              All in all if your dealing with dew cutting your night short it's more than worth the small investment! If I had to I would buy these straps again no questions asked!
