Description

Dew forms when a surface cools down below the dewpoint of the air next to it.  It's liquid water that condenses from water vapor contained in the air that's become too cold to hold it.  Once your telescope's optical surface cools enough for dew to form, your viewing night is over.  Wiping dew away will get you nowhere, it will just keep forming.  The only answer is dew prevention.  That's where the Dew Shield comes in.

 

The ETX-125 Dew Shield extends the tube out past your telescopes exposed optical surface.  This will dramatically slow down the dew forming process and keep you out viewing much longer.  A simple and inxepensive way to extend your viewing nights.

    Midwest user with lots of dew in the evenings. Needed something to protect the front elements to the Meade ETX-125. Took it out the second night to see the Orion Nebula and was pleased at the protection it afforded the telescope's front element. Felt the cost was a little to high for a round piece of plastic.
    It does the job and that's what counts.

          The meade dew cap is specific to the ext-125. It provides the telescope protection from accumilation of moisture. The observer must be careful to take the travel of the scope as to not have the cap interfere.

          Works well. I wish it had a cap or cover so I could leave it on the scope at all times. I also wish the threads were stronger. If not carefull, they will strip easily.
