Your Meade LX90 and LX200 telescopes come with a standard 1.25" format diagonal and 1.25" format eyepiece. The best upgrade you can do immediately is to change out that standard diagonal and replace it with a high quality Meade Series 5000 diagonal. The diagonal includes a 1.25" format adapter plug for use with both 2" and 1.25" format eyepieces.
Includes SC Thread to 2 Inch Adapter
The Meade LX200 Telescopes include the Zero Image Shift Microfocuser that connects to that rear-cell of the telescope. You can simply drop in the diagonal directly to the microfocuser and will not need to use the included SC Thread to 2 Inch Adapter. However, like many others who elect to not use the micro-focuser, you will need this adapter to connect directly to the rear-cell of the telescope. The Meade LX90 Telescopes do not include the microfocuser and the adapter will be required for attachment of the 2 inch diagonal.
Includes Meade Series 5000 2 Inch format 32mm Eyepiece
We think all owners of 8" and larger Schmidt Cassegrain telescope owners should have a 30mm or 32mm Eyepiece in their collection. Its the eyepiece you will use so often for deep sky viewing. The larger 2" format give you a much larger field of view and the lower magnification is exactly what is needed for viewing distant galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. In our opinion, its a must have.
Stop using the standard diagonal thats included with your telescope and step up to brighter images with wider fields of view. Once you look into a 2" format eyepiece, you will understand why its such a great upgrade.
