Description

Tele Vue 90 Degree Everbrite Diagonal - 1-1/4 Inch

Whiter and brighter images. Simply put, that is the benefit the Everbrite mirror coating. This exotic, dielectric, nonmetallic coating is 99% reflective across the full visual spectrum, resulting in the "whitest," most natural image available. The coating is painstakingly applied to Pyrex with a surface accuracy of a 1/10 wave flatness. The Everbrite is offered in both 1¼" and 2" models. The diagonal bodies of each are machined from solid blocks of aluminum. In this way we can insure permanent alignment. The one piece body construction also assures heavy accessories can't force the diagonal body to "unscrew" from the barrel as with other brands. Both the 1¼" and 2" models feature brass clamp rings, anti-reflection threads and 1¼" and 48mm filter threads respectively.

Comments about TeleVue 1.25 Inch 90 Degree Everbrite Diagonal:

Replaced my stock diagonal on my Nexstar 8SE. I always was a bit disappointed at the darker view through my SCT versus my Dobsonian. This Televue really brightened up the view and resolved more stars in clusters than the stock diagonal. I have Televue eyepieces and knew their great views were impressive, but I hadn't considered the diagonal until reading some articles. I went with the mirror since orientation is not a problem for me. It did fabulous on clusters, nebulae, and galaxies, showing greater contrast and detail. One of the best upgrades I have made to date.

Comments about TeleVue 1.25 Inch 90 Degree Everbrite Diagonal:

this thing really woke up my telescope , it made it so much more powerful that it won't focus on the moon and it did before with my baader 8mm lens , so now i have to get a weaker lens i guess , lol , but it makes a star or planet so much bigger and brighter , its way better than i expected , i don't regret buying it at all , huge difference

Comments about TeleVue 1.25 Inch 90 Degree Everbrite Diagonal:

If you don't think there's a visual difference in diagonals think again. This baby really does put my stock diagonal to shame...and when you have a smaller scope and only use 1 1/4 accessories you have to grab light everywhere you can along it's path to your eyepiece.....

YES the 'Everbrite' coating DOES give a significant "whiter" and 'brighter' view than a stock diagonal and other dielectrics!!....And that relates into brighter, crisper images, or an image deep out of no where period! The ability to grab some deep views actually not possible with a stock diagonal...and this baby even out-performs some dielectrics it's up against.....It states 99% with no fall-off near the ultraviolet and infrared ranges...If there's visual light it's capturing it right to the very edges of the visual spectrum.

I view with a smaller SCT and can't afford light loss...Most stock diagonals will run in the 85-89% range...and even some dielectrics will fizzle at 95% and start losing light transfer near the spectrum limits, but not here. I've seen and compared. It's solid alum block is heavy, but it can handle the larger eyepieces and camera equipment when used.

When viewing in so-so conditions, or you are trying to reach out and catch every last ray of visial light at the dimmest object and the total limits of your scope's ability, then transfers it to your eyepiece or camera why take a chance if you're really serious about your outcome..THIS IS THE VITAL LINK between the two! It's just not it's name but the testing each diagonal goes through. Simply the coating and construction leaves nothing to chance when you don't have margins to play with to begin with.....

Pricey?...a little, but handle it like the jewel it is. It is NOT a lense, it's a thin coated mirror..You don't clean then the same way...READ and FOLLOW cleaning Instructions to the T!!...yes you just don't get a diagonal in a box...you get a mini owner's pamplet..Read and USE it....

          Good Viewing!...cek
