Comments about Meade Deep Sky Imager DSI Fan Accessory:
The fan uses 8 AA batteries or you can use a Meade power supply. I would have gladly paid a little more for an included plug in power supply or 'onboard' battery pack. I haven't had the chance to use mine yet, but I really want to test Meade's claim that it lowers the internal temperature by up to 6 degrees. If this is true, awesome! But I have a feeling it won't do too much. It's not a peltier cooler. This fan simply draws in outside air and moves it across the back of the DSI heatsink. Hopefully it works as advertised. Any reduction in temperature helps.

Comments about Meade Deep Sky Imager DSI Fan Accessory:
I have been using the Meade DSI since it's introduction. One of the first beginner CCDs that was "air" cooled. This fan cools the CCD chip as to reduce noise and creat better images. this is a must have for anyone who has the first generation Meade CCD DSI. Operates with 4 'AA'. The only drawback is the fan is either on or off. Get it.....use it and see the difference in your images. I promise....
