Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the primary advantage of getting this imager with the color filters vs. the monochrome model? What are you getting for the extra hundred dollars?
A: The color filters allow you to change the color skew of what you are viewing by using opposite colors. For example, if you were to be viewing Mars and it seems too red to take a photo with a good amount of detail, you can apply a blue filter and the details on mars will pop out. The color filters create better picture quality.
Q2: how many pixels? pixel size? Does AutoStar suite allow long exposures? Thank you.
A:
| Pixel Array (640X480) | 752 x 582 | |
| Pixel Dimensions | 5.59mm (w) x 4.68mm (h); 1/2" diagonal | |
| Total Pixels | 437,664 pixels | |
| Pixel Size | 8.3 microns (w) x 8.6 microns (h) |
| Exposure Range | 1/10,000 of a second to one hour |
