Description

This particular filter allows light transmission in the doubly ionized oxygen wavelengths.  This is particularly good for viewing double star systems where a lot of emissions are in the doubly ionized oxygen range.

Oxygen III (O-III) are great for viewing diffuse and planetary nebulae.  The views of the Veil, Ring, Dumbbell, Crescent and Orion nebulae are dramatically improved.

CHOKING HAZARD - small parts may pose a risk to children under 6 yrs.

Comments about Zhumell 1.25 Inch High Performance O-lll Telescope Filter:

I live in a moderately lighted suburb and I found this filter useful but not great. I will try it again soon, but in my particular area a Narrowband filter may be better. As always, I enjoy ordering from www.telescopes.com. They are very helpful, prices are very reasonable and they ship very quickly.

You can't beat the price on this filter for the price. The O III is the filter that is most useful.

I was hopeing this would help me find faint objects. I I use my goto scope and find the object it does make it brighter and dims the serounding stars. works better in dark conditions than when the moon is bright. This was my experience yours may be different. So far with the 8 different filters I have I prefer the view with no filters the best.

Comments about Zhumell 1.25 Inch High Performance O-lll Telescope Filter:

I purchased the Zhumell O-111 filter to get better views of planetary and diffuse nebula. In addition to the skyglow, moon and narrowband filters, this is a necessary tool for the amateur astronomer. I have used this filter under good and poor observing conditions, and I am very pleased with the results. M27 and M57 are vivid and pop right out with this filter. There was almost a full moon last night, and I was curious if this filter would be of any use under such poor seeing conditions. To my surprise, I was able to obtain nice views of The Swan Nebula and Lagoon Nebula in addition to M27 and M57. For the price, this filter is a bargain.
