This polarizer comes at a great price, especially for a 2" version. Polarizer is packaged and stored as two separate filters, which might present inconvenience for some. However, the filter is best used with one element on a diagonal and the other on the eyepiece or EP adapter, so a simple turn of the eyepiece changes transmission levels. Threading seems to fit well on quality accessories.

Dinged one star because first copy purchased showed extreme astigmatism; Hayneedle immediately replaced it.

This filter makes viewing the moon far more enjoyable, now it doesn't feel like the brightness is burning holes in my eyes. I don't think this filter has a 35-40% light transmission, it's more like 3.5-40%, which makes it even more useful. It goes perfectly with my Z10 dobsonian. I can use it with my 1.25 inch eye pieces by screwing it onto my 1.25 inch eyepiece adapter.

The only con is that each piece comes in it's own case so I have to screw them together then take them apart each time I use it. All I have to do though is find a new case that the filter will fit in.

Great variable lens -- just twist the two lenses to get the level of darkness you need.

If the moon is your thing, this filter rocks. If it's good for anything else though, I don't know what it would be.
