                I initially purchased this cable/adapter to allow my computer to connect to my LX200GPS in order to update the firmware. Since then I have used the cable to connect and control my scope using my laptop. Just plug it in and it just works!

                I did need to purchase a USB to Serial adapter separately which connects to this cable and allows me to control the serial scope using a USB port on my computer.

                Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                  Q1: How is the #507 connector cable set different from #505?

                  A: Hello Elijah, Thank you for your email. The #505 cable is for the ETX 90,105,125 telescopes. The #507 cable is for the LX200 GPS scopes. Best regards, Denny
