Turn your green laser pointer into a finder scope for your telescope. The Zhumell Laser Finder Bracket allows you to use an astronomical green laser pointer to point to the star your telescope is on. By using an astronomical laser pointer with the laser finder bracket, you will be able to see where your telescope is pointing simply by looking at where the laser is pointing. For anyone who enjoys star hopping, this is an essential accessory. Will hold pointers from 0.5-1 inch in diameter.

I'm using a laser pointer to replace the original red dot finder on a 10 inch Meade Lightbridge dobsonian telescope. The laser pointer gets me close in to what I want to see then I turn to a Telrad finder to hone in on my subject.
I was able to simply remove the red dot finder mounting bracket and the mounting bracket for the Zhumell fit in the already drilled holes. With the red dot finder you have to crane your neck at awkward angles. In my estimation the green laser finder is a much easier way to get to your target object much more quickly and comfortably.
With its six adjusting screws it gives you great flexibility and control when it comes to aligning it with your primary.

Laser Pointer Mount
The mounting screws should be larger and orient as X-Y against a spring loaded plunger like Orion finders. The three point 120 deg style is difficult to adjust.

Comments about Zhumell Laser Finder Bracket:
Nice solidly built bracket. It nice that it will accept a wide array of laser pointers and especially larger ones as well. It is a bit heavy though for me its not a problem only a sign of being solidly built, however for dobs that already have a lot of accessories or small scopes on light mounts this could be an issue. Only problem for me is that the bracket will not fit the pre-existing mounting points on a Celestron C series telesdcope. The holes are not spaced far enough apart.

Comments about Zhumell Laser Finder Bracket:
I HUNTED LONG AND HARD FOR A REALLY GOOD LASER MOUNT FOR MY 200mw GREEN LASER.It is much bigger then the toy laser pointers and it was hard to find anything that would support and mount it's large diameter. The Zhumell bracket, is the perfect answer to my search, and will soon be mounted on my new 10" Zhumell Z-10 deluxe dobsonian telescope also purchased from telescope.com, and Hayneedle. If you have been thinking of buying it, don't put it off any longer and it is on sale too, and for a bargin price. I am sure will love it, what are you waiting for?

Comments about Zhumell Laser Finder Bracket:
Using my 50Mw green laser for education sessions during Chicago Astronomer star parties, I thought that it would make for a good pointer on the C11 SCT beast - more for show.I looked around at many others and the Zhumell was not only the best priced, but the most versatile, accepting many sized lasers - including my own. It's all metal, solid and looks quite cool...something Dr. No would use! The adjustment/set screws are very long, (very good), and the holder detaches from the base, which has a "dimple" that the base screw fits into to secure it tight. I altered my laser to a "throw switch", allowing me to leave it on as long as I wish as I slew the telescope to my desired target. And I can remove the bracket from the base quick if I need to use it by hand. It's bigger than other laser holders, and I had a slight clearance issue with the mount, (as I attached it to the lower OTA), but it worked out nicely.Using it during public observation sessions while on the C11, it worked very well, impressed others and I would recommend it as an auxiliary pointer - along with regular finderscopes.A full pictorial of the Zhumell holder can be found here: [@] I dig it!Respectfully,Chicago Astronomer Joe
