The Meade #505 Connector Cable Kit allows you to control your telescope from a PC. When used with #505 AstroFinder software (not included), your #497 Autostar-equipped, ETX telescope can be remotely controlled from the PC's display. Then simply point and click your way to any object shown on the computer screen, and the telescope will automatically slew around and place the object in your field of view.

  • 6-foot, 4-pin-to-6-pin, telephone-style cable extension
  • DB-9, 6-pin- to-RS232, serial interface adapter
    The kit will work with ETX 90/105/125 telescopes.

          not much really to say. however would be nice if they updated the connection to be compliant with computers from this century, went to computer store to get an adapter for 17 bucks to work with usb and worked like a charm to update my firmware.

            I am new to the home telescope world and need to connect an old scope to my old computer. This did the job. A longer cord would be nice to at least offer. This is a bulky scope and hard to get close to the computer.

                    This scope aligns itself with a little input to fine tune one to two stars-it repeats and allows more object viewing per night and what stunning deep space and moon detail, with my glass solar filter, I took my first shots of the Sun yesterday, WOW !
                    The whole system works flawlessly, if you read the manual and watch-out to not be too close to metal or buildings-this scope works and the Meade
                    "Flip-Box" and "Off Axis Guider" add to my astrophotographic abilities.

                    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                      Q1: Does this cable work with the ds 2130at model sold at wal-mart stores?

                      A: you will actually want to use the #506 AstroFinder Software and Cable Connector Kit for ETX 70AT and DS2000 Series

                      Q2: Is there a USB connector Cable set or is serial the only option?

                      A: You would need to get the model #07507 USB to RS-232 cable along with the #505. It will depend specifically on what telescope you are trying to connect though as to what cables will work properly.

                      Q3: will this work on a Meade NGC-60 telscope

                      A: I am sorry but no as the Auto star in the NGC's will tell you where to point the scope versus actually moving the scope for you.

                      Q4: Will this set work with a 25 pin serial port? My lap top does not have a 9 pin port. The Meade website says it connects to either a 9 or 25 pin, but from the picture and discription it seems to only work for a 9 pin.
