      This is an excellent aid to balance a scope on your visual or imaging setup. I have connected the adapter to a quick release plate for a Manfrotto 405 head on an AstroTrac. Before this ADM adapter, I had a big unbalance problem because of limited travel between my Orion 80ED's dovetail bar (on rings) and the QR plate. Much more travel is available now, and good balance can thereby be obtained. The adapter is heavy, but that is good because it will not cause any flex in your astroimaging system!
