I am 6'2" and have had my spine fused in two spots. Bending down is all but impossible now and I had given up on being able to observe the night sky. With the extension capability of this tripod I not only can stand and observe but am able to get to those overhead sights that were impossible to adjust to with a standard tripod. Sturdy, easy to adjust, quick mount and dismount of different optics, and swivel, this equipment has been a life saver. Could not recommend more

This is a good solid mount,But it lost 2 points. The first point was lost due to the quick release plate that comes with the tripod has to much play...this can be fixed by getting the heavy duty quick release plate its about $14.00usd.

The second point was lost due to raising the center part of the tripod, you have to ajust it by hand(twist and lift)if you have 25X100 binoculars it can be heavy.Should have used a handle to ajust it up or down.

But it is still a good mount for my Zhumell 25X100 Binoculars.

Nice tripod, but .......

Pros

Comments about Zhumell Astronomical Binoculars Tripod:

Without question, this tripod is a well built piece of equipment. Although I have only had it for a few days, the only shortcoming I have noticed, is the lack of a diagram to help identify all of the parts. None came with the shipment, nor could I find one online ...

Comments about Zhumell Astronomical Binoculars Tripod:

This is without a doubt the most well built tripod I have ever seen. I have not had a chance to use it yet but iam very sure it will do anything a tripod is supposed to do without any trouble. The only one done side if there is one it is not lightweight. Binoculars .com was gret to deal with. Friendly, courteous service and very prompt delivery. Thank you. penny-rex

Comments about Zhumell Astronomical Binoculars Tripod:

I initially did not buy this tripod to use with the Zhumell Tachyon binoculars because I had a tripod rated for 20 pounds. That was a mistake as the other tripod just did not have a solid feeling when holding the very heavy Tachyons (10 plus pounds). I ordered this one and am very impressed with how solid and well constructed this tripod is. It's all metal constuction leaves you confident your heavy binoculars (or other heavy devices) are safe. It's smooth and comes with a nice carrying case. Note that because it is not made out of plastic that it is somewhat heavy in and of itself, so not reccomended for backpacking.

Comments about Zhumell Astronomical Binoculars Tripod:

This is a great tripod for my pair of giant astronomy binoculars! Unlike the first one I tried, this tripod is very sturdy. It supports my 11-lb giants extremely well. No vibration. Easy to move my binoculars around, and holds them in place once I get to my target.

These is also the best tripod available for tall people, too. I'm 6'4", and this tripod lets me view objects both at the horizon and near the zenith while comfortably standing straight and tall. This is pretty important for tall guys like me, who are tired of bending down in this sub-6' world. :)
