Ergonomic Design - CGEM was designed to be ergonomically friendly with large Altitude and Azimuth adjustment knobs for quick and easy polar alignment adjustment. The internal RA and DEC motor wiring provides a clean look and an easy and trouble free set up.

Comments about Celestron CGEM Computerized Mount:
Amazing mount. Much easier to use than I was expecting. Even before aligning the mount, it is very precise. After aligning, it is amazing how well it keeps track of the objects. Even with just a rough polar alignment, my astrophotos improved instantly.
The mount is large, and heavy, but once you get use to disassembling and reassembling, it takes no time at all.

Comments about Celestron CGEM Computerized Mount:
The goto function is more accurate than I had anticipated. The worm gear is solid, it helped to slightly unbalance it to keep it tracking in Sidereal, but that's with most mounts. For the price, this is an awesome mount. You don't need more mount unless you are upgrading to observatory class like a paramount ME. For scopes in the F/r 5 to F/r 10 range, as I have three, they all worked fine with this mount.
The nicest thing about this mount is it's portability. A touch heavy, but easily portable. Excellent mount for the price, and it get's the job done.
Definitely recommend to a friend.

Comments about Celestron CGEM Computerized Mount:
I purchased the mount several months ago, the skies and weather here in N.E. Ohio have been terible most all summer, however I've had two nights back to back with very clear trasparent skies. The mount is a joy to use, withevery thing located in the hand controler (only two cords, power and the controler) set up is very simple and quick, the layout of control buttons is good, the menues are easy to search. The mount tracks very accuratley and very smooth, th go to is quick and right on, object always in the eyepice when I first look in, may need to center once in a while.I've been an astronomer for 56 years, although I don't really need the go to feature it makes looking for fainter objects a breeze.plan to try some imaging soon, I think this mount will be fine for this, solid stable platform.Dealing with Telescopes.com was a pleasure, I'd reccomend them to amnyone[...]and I will buy from them again.Mike WIlliams

Comments about Celestron CGEM Computerized Mount:
My comments are based on just assembling out of the box. This is a second mount I also have a CGE. Seeing this mount in person one quickly recognizes it is the best bang for buck yet nothing cheap about it. Assembly time five minutes could be less. 'Go to' is extremely fast and smooth, sound of motors cool. Balance of design beautiful at any angle. My wife who cares less about such things said "wow looks like a piece of art". Initial setup of hand controller a minute (if your use to typical Celestron) Bigger in person than photo shows but lighter than expected. Wow factor 9/10. Hand control to Bluetooth wireless adapter to laptop communication succeeded on first attempt. Put a Vixen fluorite 4" f/9 on it are you kidding? Payload appears that it could easily handle twice the load. My guess is this mount will become the 'must have' mount for sure. Oh and there are no messy cables exposed.I did preliminary 'go to' during the day using 'Starry nights' it appears to be pointing where it should be. Will test under the night sky tonight. Folks at Celestron are doing some amazing things, good for them and us.
