Comments about Celestron NexStar SE 6 / 8 Computerized Mount:
Good choice of a mount for small SCTs, refractors and solar scopes. I personally wouldn't go above a 6" SCT with it due to more noticeable vibration. I have a C5 spotter on mine and vibrations are nearly non existant. The longer "arm" of the SE6/8 mount (compared to C5 mount) gives more room for focal reducers and diagonals without the scope hitting the base at near zenith as well as better tube balancing.
Azimuth slewing is fairly quite, while the alt. slewing is a bit louder, but not objectionable.
*Do not use internal batteries for this mount under cold conditions, rather use an external battery pack such as the Celestron 12v Power Tank..otherwise GOTO slewing will be sluggish and inaccurate.
Good mount, easily portable.
