    A useful item

I bought this to use with 8X56 binoculars. Works great for that, but I mostly use it as a stable platform for my digital camera.

I bought the tripod based on price. The unit extends to a nice height that allows upward binocular motion without having to stoop. This is good for looking up to the stars. However, it is extremely lightweight and was not meant for this purpose. Not stable enough for higher magnification. But also its lightweight is a big plus when "something " is needed fr binocular use without carrying bulkier gear..

      Comments about Zhumell Lightweight Tripod:

The product was recommended from the Haywire representative. I trusted his recommendation and found the tripod was not appropriate for my use. I was clear with the intended purpose (spotting scope) when I spoke to the representative.

      Service and delivery comments:

I purchased 3 items. They arrived in a timely manner. I did not keep the tripod because of its construction. Unfortunately, the cost to return it negated any savings. It ended up being approximately 1/3 the cost of the item.

        Comments about Zhumell Lightweight Tripod:

Was worried when the removable quick plate would not initially tighten down on a Zhumell spotting scope. Thought that I would have to return it, but eventually the screw tightened down enough to provide a stable platform, for tool less on an off mounting. The hook on the center post is going to be perfect for a counterweight to keep the unit stable in a semi permanent installation
Don't let the "lightweight" worry you, it is a stable well made product. Unit arrived exactly when promised during order process, Thank you Hayneedle

            Comments about Zhumell Lightweight Tripod:

The idea was good, A nighttime outerspace set of binoculars and a tripod to hold it steady. The tripod is lightweight and easy to use. But when you tighten the final tripod adjustments, once you have centered on a subject. You are moved off the subject every time. Just not a fine tuneing lock-in for quick and easy vision setups.
A non-moveing subject/portrait would probably be very good. Outerspace viewing, where things move, not good at all.

The photo with the 15x70 Celestron binoculars makes the tripod look tiny but its actually sturdy and well constructed and easy to use.
