Description

Developed primarily for use in prime focus, deep-sky imaging or astrophotography with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, Celestron's Radial Guider is compact and sleek in design. It allows you to photograph and guide through the optical tube assembly of your telescope simultaneously, ensuring the highest-quality images. It virtually eliminates differential flexure, too, because guiding and photographing both take place through the telescope..

The radial guider is compatible with Celestron's C5, C8, C9¼, C11 and C14 telescopes and comes with a unique prism-angle adjustment screw. It must be used with a guiding eyepiece, camera T-Ring and drive corrector (dual axis preferred). It's primarily for use with catadioptric telescopes, but it also works on refractor telescopes having adequate back focus.

Celestron's radial guider is a tremendous improvement over conventional off-axis guilders. Not only does it enable you to vary the angle of the prism, but it maintains a fixed camera orientation while offering users the freedom to move the guiding eyepiece radially about 135 degrees.
The Celestron radial guider is a must-have accessory for all astrophotographers and imagers!

        Comments about Celestron Radial Guider:

A bit, OK a lot of work for me, to use. If you realy do not want to use a guidescope this will work but I found that it takes me a long time to be able to fine a bright guide star. If I had to do it all over again I would not go this route. It would work much better in a dark sky area. I had to clean the glue off ot the small guide mirror before I could use it, QC missed this one.

The end side where your t-ring mounts for your cammer should be 1/4" longer my canon T1I flash body hits the side of the eyepice tube so i have to keep it At a tilt side not stright up and down but does work ok

        Comments about Celestron Radial Guider:

The radial guider is probably the most difficult way to guide a scope. If you are going to want to guide a scope then you should invest in onethat can piggyback or design a mount for one so you can piggyback another scope. A great tool then if your scope isn't autoguider compatible is to purchase the orion starshoot autoguider and use its handy fine grid function to help keep the scope aligned.

Very useful device allows adding a tracking camera to the main output of a telescope. It works well however appears to be cheaply made.

          Customer Q & A

Q1: I am interested in photography with the Celestron Ultima 8 and need information as to what is need to use a Minolta X-700 for this. Does the radial guider need a t-mount adapter for this? Do you have the necessary supplies in stock? Thank you for your assistance. Dave

A: The radial guider will work just fine with the Ultima 8. You will need the specific T-Ring for your Minolta camera. (standard or Maxxum)We currently have both T-Rings in stock.

Q2: Will it work with orion astroview 120 st refractor?

A: Unfortunately, the Celestron Radial Guider only works with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.
