It really is a quite simple object. It simply bridges the gap between your scope and imager. However, if you plan on using a large-chipped DSLR or CCD camera, it is needed to get the full image. A very good product that I could not live without.

This item is made with heavy-duty metal enough to hold a heavy camera in place. This T-adapter is only 2" in length. Vibration is minimized because it is very short as compared to other T-adapters that extend at 4-5 inches from the back of the telescope. The further your camera extends from the back of telescope, the more sensitive it gets to vibration.
This T-adapter is only good for prime focus astrophotography. It only magnifies the object at a fixed 50x. Big celestial objects such as the Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Saturn are good at 50x but the magnification may not reveal much details. If you want to increase the magnification to capture pictures of deep sky objects such as nebulae, galaxies and star clusters, then you would need a T-adapter that can be attached to an eyepiece.
Consider buying a multipurpose T-adapter that can work in prime focus mode (without an eyepiece) and in projection mode using an attached eyepiece.

This was the second one of its kind from celestron that I had ordered. The first one the threads were fine. But the second was not. They had sharp barbed edges on the threads and caught skin. This was its replacement. As for this one it was not barbed, however compared to the meade (Of which I have and have worked in the QC of Meade Instruments) the Meade is of better quality. Both the polished anodizing and machine work beat it hands down. Just wish the price did..

This does work just fine for what I bought it for which was astrophotography. However, when using it for visual with my 2" diagonal I can only reach focus (barely) using my 2" eyepieces. I cant use the 1.25" adapter and reach focus with my 1.25" eyepieces, I have to take the adapter and 2" diagonal off and replace it with a 1.25" diagonal to get focus with my 1.25" eyepieces. But, for doing photography it does work perfectly and it does eliminate most of the field curvature.

The threading on this item was burred and would snag my skin in my hand. I could barely get it to thread on to the T-ring. I cannot take the ring off to change to different camera ring,for fear it will gall the threads. cannot use it as intended to. I am so tired of reordering and sending things back. But I will when stop feeling so disapointed. Return lable anyone, I just want what I got the last time I bought this from you..Happy Holidays Guys
