Before I purchased it I was worried about it being made of a weak aluminum. When you have a nice camera being held by such a small peice you tend to get a little nervious, if it breaks your camera falls!

Worries were relieved, however, the first time I used it!

NOTE: To use a Nikon D80 you must switch the Mode selector to "m" or the camera will not work, since it is looking for a computerized lens.

This adapter binds up frequently on my Nikon D70 and D2X cameras.

I compared the construction with the mounts on several lenses - the 3 locking flanges are thinner and sharper than that on the lens. This creates problems when trying to disengage the camera from the adapter. Quite often the pair get stuck together.

Comments about Celestron T-Rings for Camera Attachment:

This ring is bad because it doesn't lock into place. Be very careful because if you rotate your camera on this ring, it will easily release your camera. I went and found my old vivitar ring and used that with the T adapter for my new telescope and that worked. The whole time I had my camera mounted with this ring, I held on tight to the strap.

                Customer Q & A
                1 - 5 of 14
                    1   2   3

Q1: Can I use this T-Ring with my Nikon 8700 digital camera?

A: as long as your nikon camera i9s a SLR or DSLR it will work just fine.

Q2: Hello, I currently have a Meade #62 T-Adapter and am looking to purchase the Celestron T-Ring Canon EOS (93419). Will the Celestron ring work with the Meade adpater, i.e.; screw onto the Meade T-Adapter (same threads?) etc... Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Best Regards, Jay Johnson

A: Hello, Jay: Yes, the Celestron T-ring will work just fine with the Meade #62 T-adapter.

Q3: Hello. I am trying to mate a Canon Rebel XT digital SLR to my Celestron 11GPS telescope. Please advise me of the type of T-ring and T-adapter I need for this. Thanks.

A: You'll need a device like the Zhumell Universal T-adapter and a T-ring for Canon EOS. Here's the URL for the T-adapter; just paste it into your browser's address window: http://telescopes.com/products/zhumell-universal-t-adapter-1-25-inch-camera-adapter-30842.html. And here's the URL for the T-ring: http://telescopes.com/products/zhumell-t-ring-canon-eos-30838.html.

Q4: Do you have an adapter for a Cannon Digital Rebel to a Bausch Lomb 4000 telescope? Thanks Ed.

A: As we recall, the discontinued Bausch & Lomb 4000 takes a 1.25-inch eyepiece. If that is indeed the case, the Zhumell Universal T-Adapter will fit the scope. Then, to attach the camera to the T-Adapter, you'll need The T-Ring Cannon EOS, which you've already located. Here's the URL for the Zhumell T-Adapter; just paste it into your browser's address window: http://telescopes.com/products/zhumell-universal-t-adapter-1-25-inch-camera-adapter-30842.html.

Q5: will this work on a canon ef lens mount? which t adapter and ring adaptor should i use for a Canon EOS 620 35mm slr? I am using a celestron refrative 120mm telescope?? Do i need anything else to start shooting?

A: The T-ring Canon EOS will fit a canon EOS camera. To make the connection to the telescope, you'll need a device like the Zhumell Universal T-Adapter. Here's the URL; just paste it into your browser's address window: http://telescopes.com/products/zhumell-universal-t-adapter-1-25-inch-camera-adapter-30842.html.
