  • Reduce vibration and dampening time with these pads
  • Place under each tripod leg for suppressed vibration
  • Helpful when viewing on patio's or decks
  • Great for viewing at extremely high magnifications
Description

Telescope and spotting scope vibration can be caused by windy conditions, an unsteady mount, or a simple bump. Whatever the source, though, reduced image quality results. Celestron's set of three vibration suppression pads gets the shakes out. It'll reduce vibration time by almost 100 percent while decreasing vibration amplitude, and that translates into better image quality. The pads fit between the tripod's feet and the ground, providing a simple, functional vibration damper. They work on any surface: grass, dirt, concrete, asphalt, wood, etc., for both telescopes and spotting scopes. And they banish image bounce forever!
CHOKING HAZARD - small parts may pose a risk to children under 6 yrs.

These actually surprised me and I was very impressed with the design. I was expecting just a rubber block, but these show some acoustic engineering was involved. The design mirrors the vibration isolation used on professional acoustic chambers. In this case, each pad consists of a hard outer shell with a couple of bumps for ground contact, and an inner concave shell for the tripod foot, separated by a very soft silicone absorber layer. The result is a product that does exactly what it says it will, and that should last as long as the silicone remains pliable (a pretty long time!).

Works, but still a little vibration

Bought to use on a scope for viewing on my deck. Removes most of the vibration, but still catch a bit. When on concrete, works great for stability and removes motions.

Comments about Celestron Telescope and Spotting Scope Vibration Suppression Pads:

It's hard to believe that puck shaped items such as these are as effective as they are.

I guesstimate that these pads reduce both the length and severity of vibrations due to wind or focusing, or other interactions with the telescopes by 20-50%.

I can't explain why they work, but I know they do. You WILL notice the difference. Highly recommended.

            Customer Q & A

Q1: We have a Celestron 8 telescope, the older version, I was curious as to whether the suppression pads seen here were the correct ones for the bottom of our telescope. The diameter of our legs to the telescope is 2 inchs.

A: Yes teh suppression pads should work just fine for you.
