Meade flip-mirror systems are a must-have accessory if you're an astrophotographer. They allow you to use both an eyepiece and a camera or imaging system on your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope without having to dismount either. That means you can flip between the two and check your focus before you begin imaging.
To use the #644 Flip Mirror System it will be necessary to match the focus of an eyepiece with the focus of your camera. This is rather tedious but necessary. To help with this, a lock-ring on the eyepiece holder fixes this visual focus so it matches exactly with the focus of your CCD or DSLR camera. The Meade 25mm Plossl Illuminated Reticle Framing Eyepiece is a great choice for a focusing eyepiece.
The flip-mirror system accepts any 1.25-inch eyepiece. The system includes dual-axis mirror-adjustment screws and locks for precise image centering. Once set, mirror alignment remains fixed for future applications.
