Meade flip-mirror systems are a must-have accessory for the astrophotographer!

Flip-mirror systems allow you to use both an eyepiece and a camera or imaging system on your telescope without having to dismount either. That means you can flip between the two to check your focus before you begin imaging. The flip-mirror system has a 2-inch eyepiece holder and 1.25-inch eyepiece adapter, permitting use of either 1.25-inch or 2-inch eyepieces. Use it for full-field 35mm astrophotography or for CCD imagers of any chip dimensions.

To use the #647 Flip Mirror System it will be necessary to match the focus of an eyepiece with the focus of your camera.  This is rather tedious but necessary.  To help with this, a lock-ring on the eyepiece holder fixes this visual focus so it matches exactly with the focus of your CCD or DSLR camera.  The Meade 25mm Plossl Illuminated Reticle Framing Eyepiece is a great choice for a focusing eyepiece.
