Description

The Meade #64ST T-Adapter for ETX 70/80 is the basic means of prime-focus photography with the Meade ETX 70/80 telescope. Thread the T-Adapter onto the rear cell of the telescope, followed by a T-Ring for your specific 35mm or Digital SLR camera. Then you can couple the camera body to the telescope.
Meade offers T-Mounts for most models of 35mm cameras. To attach to your camera to your Meade ETX 70/80 telescope, you will need both the #64ST T-Adapter and the appropriate T-Mount for your camera.

I got this adapter for an Olympus E-420.Works great....no this is not for some huge aperture scope. It will amaze you though......if you align precise enough, you can take some very well done long exposure shots.

Comments about Meade #64ST T-Adapter for ETX-70/80AT Telescopes - For Attachment of Camera:

It works all right, and the few practice pictures I got were good enough, but then when I took my camera off, the problems started. I can't remove it from the telescope! I just keep turning it over and over, and it doesn't budge. It's also stuck to my camera's t-mount, so I'll need to buy another one of those if I want to use my camera on any other telescope. And now with the rings stuck on the back of the scope, there's no way to keep dust and moisture from getting in there. And since it's stuck to the telescope, I can't even return it. Whoever thought to make it out of plastic needs to think again.

Bought the adapter hoping it would fit my old Meade DS2102Mak and it does. I use a Canon 500D and take images of the Sun, Moon, and birds and love it, it works great.

Comments about Meade #64ST T-Adapter for ETX-70/80AT Telescopes - For Attachment of Camera:

This adapter securely attaches to a T-adapter. The only problem is that with the camera attached, the telescopes does not have its full range of motion due to the camera hitting the mount. This means that you can only image certain targets. It also means that you have to remove the camera while changing targets or your risk ruining the drive motors because the scope is getting stuck. This increases the chance of attracting sensor dust to your camera's sensor because of the number of times where you will have to remove it.
