Get started with astrophotography on your Meade LX200 or LX90 telescope. The LX200 and LX90 telescopes f/10 focal ratio makes them difficult to take long exposure photos with your DSLR Nikon or DSLR Canon EOS camera - that's why we included the Meade f/6.3 focal reducer to make the telescope "faster" for optimum use for astrophotography.
Simple to get started
To use, simply thread on the Focal Reducer to the rear-cell of the LX200 or LX90 telescope. Followed by threading the T-Adapter onto the Focal-Reducer. Finally, replace your cameras lens with either the Nikon or Canon EOS T-Ring to allow connection to the T-Adapter.
Importance of a shutter-release cable
It is important to use a Shutter Release cable with your camera. You will not want to take your exposures by pressing your shutter button on your camera body - this will produce vibration. A remote shutter release cable was either included with your camera, or is easily available and inexpensive from any local camera store.
