Description

Meade Universal AC Adapter, works with any Meade ETX-PE, LightSwitch, LXD, LX90, LX200, RCX/LX400 and MAX Mount

 

The Transformer converts normal 110-120 Volt AC power to 12 Volt DC power.  An 8 foot cord connects to the transformer and ends with the 5.5mm male plug to that fits into the 12 Volt DC power receptacle of the telescope.  The transformer then connects to a 6 foot standard three-prong AC cord for connection to the household outlet.

 

Transformer provides 5 amp 12 volt DC output.  Weighs 20 oz.

 

For those lucky individuals who can use their telescopes in dark skies without the need to travel further than an AC power outlet then the Meade AC Adapter is the best way to power your Meade telescope.  Meade #607 DC Power Cord is what you are looking for.

    This is supposed to deliver 12 VDC @ 5A, It seems rather undersized.[$]for an oversized wall wart that doesn't even sport the Meade logo, (it is a JET supply). Had I known what the size of the input plug was for the telescope. I would have built my own. Also, instead of getting a North American power plug, I received one with a European plug. Fortunately for me, I had a computer power cord that seems to do the job.
