If you are looking to move up to a higher quality eyepiece the Omni series provides more enhanced features in a wider selection of focal lengths. Celestron designed this series with the finer points in mind so you, the user, can benefit from the features that make this series unique.
The Omni is a 4-element premium symmetrical Plössl optical design. Features include blackened lens edges to minimize internal reflection and maximize contrast, multi-layer coating group on each lens surface to maximize light transmission and contrast, and each Omni goes through a two-step anodizing process to prevent reflection from the top eyepiece barrel, unlike most other manufactures who use reflective surfaces.
Threaded barrels accept 1-1/4" Celestron thread-in filters.

My 8" Celestron telescope is capable of significantly greater than 200x magnification, but I intend to focus primarily on lunar targets, usually in the city, so 200x is sufficient for now. I wanted a lens that would get me there and this one more than fills the bill. Now if the weather will just cooperate!

This eyepiece was a gift to my friends son who's just getting into astronomy and I didn't want to get something high end. It works great with his 90mm refractor scope but seems to have a bit of a sweet spot. images seemed to go in and out of focus easily while observing but Saturn came in sharp when in focus. Although its a great price and quality for my purposes, an avid observer may find better quality with a Meade 5000 series or better. Would recommend for the novice or casual observer.

Comments about Celestron Telescope Omni Series Eyepieces:
Ordered 4mm. Got 10mm by mistake. Got prompt refund and the eyepiece was gratis! I reordered and received a 4mm eyepiece.
I will try it tomorrow with and without a 2x Barlow.

Comments about Celestron Telescope Omni Series Eyepieces:
Good eyepiece for its price point. I got this for a Celestron 114ESQ I got for my son as a first 'scope, and it's much clearer than the stock 10mm eyepiece. For serious observers using a larger instrument I would go for a more expensive Super Plossl, but for the intended use this is fine.
Service and delivery comments:
No issues. Smooth transaction and delivered well ahead of the promised delivery date.

Comments about Celestron Telescope Omni Series Eyepieces:
The product seems fine and is more or less what I expected. The eyepiece is a little more loose fitting in the reccepticle than I would have expected.
Way too much irritating followup spam from the retailer, Hayneedle.
Please take me off your list immediately.

Q1: How crisp would this be in a Tasco 500x4.5 reflector EQ, and what can it see (can it see galaxies) how far does it see in a 1000mm telescope. Would you recommend it, if not tell of another eyepiece I could get.
A: The Celestron Omni 4mm eyepiece would be a good match for the Tasco 500x4.5 Reflector. It will magnify everything that your scope brings in 250 times, which is just about the maximum magnification the scope can handle. Eyepieces can't magnify what the scope can't bring in, though. A 4.5-inch reflector can reach out to Magnitude 12 or a little better. That brings in the light from roughly 5 million stars. The 4.5-inch scope will reveal structure in the Andromeda Galaxy and give views of several other galaxies.
Q2: Is the 4mm lens compatible with the Celestron NextStar 4SE? Or do you recommend a different lens? I would really like to see the rings of Saturn.
A: The Celestron 4SE can only support up to 240x magnification, and the 4mm would give you 330x magnification. We recommend a 6mm eyepiece which is 225x magnification. It is the highest eyepiece your telescope can support with clarity.
Q3: Would these eyepieces be a good match for a vintage C8?
A: If your C8 uses a standard 1.25" eyepiece, these would work quite well.
