Designed and manufactured to exacting standards, Meade Series 4000 Super Plossl eyepieces deliver wide 52 Degree apparent fields of view (44 Degrees for the SP40mm) with all of the resolution, edge-of-field sharpness and color correction demanded in the most advanced visual applications. All eyepieces are multi-coated and include soft rubber eyeguards.

This package includes six, 1.25" format telescope eyepieces. Each is fully multi-coated and have a 52 Degree Apparent Field of View (44 Degree on the 40mm)
Includes 2x Barlow Lens
What makes this kit so great is the included Barlow lens. A barlow lens doubles the power of any eyepiece its connected to. So your included 6 eyepieces actually can deliver 12 different magnification levels!
Color Filters included
This kit includes four color filters. The filters simply thread onto the bottom of the eyepiece and allows you to bring out surface structure and details in lunar and planetary surfaces. You get a #12 Yellow, #23 Light Red, #58 Green and #80 Blue
Moon Filter Included
You also get a Meade #ND96 Neutral Density Moon Filter to allow comfortable viewing on the moon. Think of it like a pair of sunglasses for your telescope. The moon can be so bright in a telescope that without filters it can be uncomfortable to view. Also it will substantially bring out more detail and contrast of lunar surfaces.
All packed up nice in the included hard case
All of the accessories come in a locking hard carrying case with foam interior with holes specifically cut to fit the accessories and keep them from moving around during travel.

I bought these primarily to replace the inferior H-series eyepieces that came with my Meade DS-2130At telescope. What a difference! A month later I purchased a Meade LXD75-SN-8 AT/UHTC and they worked perfectly on this scope as well. When you buy an inexpensive 'scope, you will probably get inferior eyepieces and good tube optics - so your first purchase should be a set of these eyepieces!
Since I bought my scope a week before this eyepiece set I would have had to pay the full $299. Since it is only $199 with any Meade telescope, I bought a small Meade refractor for $79.00 and gave it to my nephew - he loves it!
Hhhmmm... Let me see, $299.00 for the eyepieces and nothing else or $279.00 for the eyepieces, a "free" telescope for a friend or associate (eBay anyone?) and save $21.00 to boot! Can't beat it! Highly recommend.

This is a mediocre product. The lenses felt flimsily made and the higher magnification 9.7 and 6.4 mm lenses could not work with my Meade Etx 125 telescope although the 12 and 15 mm lenses were good. . The 2X barlow was also not useful. Case was also flimsy and lock did not work.

this is a great starter eyepiece kit. it has a full range of magnification. from a 40 mm to a 6.4 mm plus a 2 x barlow for double the ammouont of choices you have. add the four planetary and one moon filter you have a great start in one package.

I am a beginner amateur astronomer and for the money you pay for this set of eyepieces and the quality you receive can't be beaten. I highly recommend this set to anyone starting out or on a budget. Of course there are higher quality sets out there for more money but these definitely get the job done for the price.

First set arrived with a defect in the case but it was replaced promptly with one in good condition. The optics are fine quality. It would be nice if there was a place in the case to store the lens that comes with their telescopes.
