The eyepiece arrived 3 days after ordering. It was packaged well and arrived exactly when they said it would. I look forward to ordering more items from Telescopes.com.
I used the eyepiece the other night and it was very good. Good flat field, edge to edge, performed well. I was quite surpised at its performance, a portal to space!

The Ultra wide's from Meade are a great value. I especialy love my older 6.7 mm. Their 82 degree apparent field of view is amazing, i'm sure they are not on par with the naglers, but only to the optics perfectionist. I'm using the Meade with my Sky-Watcher Pro 120ed, and i have to say- on a budget of under $2000, the views are within 90 percent of expensive-scope-expensive eyepiece combination that runs in the $4500-6500. Especialy amazing value for terrestrial viewing, you will not want to go back to low apparent field of view ever again, nothing compares to wide field views and big apperture (3D like picture).

I got this 4.7 mm Ultra Wide lens after I had purchased a Super Wide Meade 5000 series 24 mm lens. That one was superb with clear crisp images. The 4.7 mm gives high magnification with my 10" Dob, with 1250 mm focal length. Unfortunately, for stars, the view was not as well defined, clear or bright enough to have gained anything by using this lens. However, viewing the moon, with its higher intensity, did give a good image. One could almost see the individual boulders on the surface.
Though the lens is well made, the cover kept falling off as it was too loose.
Value wise, the lens is worth the money but the 4.7 mm is at the upper end of magnification and so suffers from critical focusing and short depth of field. The aperture, 82 degrees, was great.

Q1: I have a Meade DS-2080AT-LNT. What would work better for me, the Meade Series 5000 14mm Ultrawide with a Meade 2x Ultra TX TeleXtender or the Meade Series 5000 6.7mm Ultrawide? I am looking to get the best combination of magnification and image quality.
