Q1: besides the mount and gps, are there any other difference between the nexstar 11 gps, and the advanced series C11 SGT? Are the optics thae same?
A: Yes, the optics are exactly the same. And if you add the GPS accessory to the C11, you will have a scope that is very similar. The major advantage of the GPS version is that everything is integrated together. Obviously the major difference is the mount. The C11 offers the EQ mount and the GPS has the dual fork mount. Both mounts are VERY good.
Q2: Does this model support the Fastar CCD camera assembly? Thanks.
A: I am sorry but no the Fastar lens assembly that was made for the 11" Gps has been discontinued by Celestron, it is only available for the 8' GPS model now.
Q3: Does this telescope have a built-in motor drive? Can I use a power tank to run this telescope?
A: Yes it has a built in motor drive and you are definitley able to use the Celestron Power tank for your power source.
Q4: Can RA and Dec. coordinates be entered into the hand controller to locate objects not in the menus
A: Yes that is one of the many ways to look for a specific celestial object.
Q5: Might I need a collimator for this scope?
A: You'll not require a collimator for the Celestron C11-S GT telescope.
