Description

The Celestron CPC telescope is an amazing instrument for visual and astrophotography use. The Celestron CPC telescope is an Alt-Azimuth mounting style telescope. Astrophotography is possible and done very well in Alt-Az mounted telescopes, however most will tell you that an Equatorial mounted telescope is the right choice for serious astrophotography. That's why we have combined the Celestron CPC telescope with the Celestron HD Pro Heavy Duty Wedge.

A "wedge" is a piece that mounts inbetween the Tripod and the Fork Mounted CPC telescope. It "changes" the telescope to an Equatorial mounted telescope. This allows you to polar align your telescope and will minimize the tracking that is done on a standard Fork Mounted Alt-Az CPC telescope.

The Celestron CPC Series Telescopes are fully computerized, GPS enabled, GoTo telescopes. They feature Celestron's revolutionary SkyAlign technology (when used in Alt-Az mode without the wedge) and feature 40,000 objects at the push of a button.

This Celestron telescope package is the best way to get started into Astrophotography with a Celestron CPC telescope.

Hayneedle does it again! David Powers and I had a conversation about a nice astrophotography setup and after nearly an hour we settled on this telescope. It was close, but the wedge inclusion makes this a no brainer. We discussed other things for the scope as well, a motofocus unit, tele-extender, things to make this a true astrophotography monster. We created a package, and then David found a way to save me EVEN more money, truly a special thing when CUSTOMER SERVICE is the first most important part of a purchase.

This scope is big, so it's going to be heavy. That's the price of a big scope. It goes together easily, with everything well fitted and ready to go. The GPS unit aquired inside the house, (a true plus) and the spotting scope is a joy to behold, easy to align and easy to remove. The base and tripod are solid thick yet very elegant looking giving the scope a very plesant appearence.

From the corrector plate to the visual back the scope is solid feeling and very well constructed, and the teleextender goes easily in place of the visual back making prime focus photography a breeze.

The Focus knob is sturdy, but with the JMI Motofocus unite, no bounce focusing is a reality!

A wonderful still very portable scope and easy to use in either the alt az mode, or with the wedge in place.

I love it!

David Powers and the entire Hayneedle crew seem to have customer service down to a science. They are fast, reliable, and easy to deal with. David got back with me as promised on prices and a package, and when I was ready to make this purchase he was right on top of it.

After my christmas near disaster averted by Amanda at Hayneedle, I was eager to see if that applied after the fact. I am very happy to report that it does, and that Hayneedle seems to have a year round customer service policy that makes shopping with them a true pleasure.

I will be back.

And to David, huge props my man, you did good, this scope is AWESOME!
