Maksutov-Cassegrain Optics

The Meade ETX-90AT offers top-quality optics to back up its easy-use features. Serious astronomers for years have flocked to the Meade ETX-90 for its observatory-quality Maksutov-Cassegrain optical system. Its diffraction-limited optics are so bright and crisp in contrast and image resolution that the ETX-90AT consistently out-performs telescopes of larger aperture. ETX-90AT telescopes feature BK-7 glass and oversize Pyrex primary mirrors, and the entire optical system is manufactured at Meade's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Irvine, California.

Ultra High Transmission Coatings

As if that isn't quality enough, the ETX-90AT optics are enhanced by Meade UHTC, a series of exotic optical coatings precisely tuned to optimize the visual, photographic and CCD-imaging performance of the ETX telescope. Image brightness is increased by nearly 15% over that offered by standard Meade optical coatings. This means that stars, galaxies, and nebulae observed through your ETX-90AT will be dramatically brighter. Even observations of the Moon and planets will benefit from UHTC's increased image brightness across the full light spectrum.
