Description

See the heavens in a whole new way with the Konus MotorMax 90 Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope with RA Motor Drive. This unique telescope incorporates the features of four different telescope styles for optimum performance and power. It uses both the lenses of refractor telescopes and the mirrors of Newtonian scopes, and combines the compact design of Schmidt-Cassegrains with the exotic design of Maksutov-Cassegrains. The result is a telescope model with a wider field of vision and a crisper, clearer view that is easy to set up and store.

The Konus MotorMax 90 also features a built-in flip-mirror system that allows for a straight-down 90-degree viewing angle. By flipping the mirror and adding the included star diagonal, the viewing angle can be shifted to 45 degrees. Fully multi-coated lenses allow for optimum light entrance and distribution, and long eye relief offers optimum comfort, especially for eyeglass wearers. A 3.5-inch-diameter aperture offers a wide magnification range of 20x to 180x, which allows for equally clear vision of a nearby bird on a branch and deep-space objects. Additionally, the Konus MotorMax 90 is equipped with a compact Equatorial mount with a motorized RA that tracks stars easily. Includes an attached finderscope, an adjustable aluminum tripod with a 3-pound counterweight, and a moon filter to reduce excessive reflected light.

Customer Q & A

1 - 5 of 10
    1   2

Q1: Does this product come with a tripod?

A: Absolutely, the scope includes everything that you will need to use it right out of the box.

Q2: Also, (second question in past 2 minutes...) is shipping free? And is it taxable if I live in Illinois? Thanks so much!

A: You would be required to pay the shipping but there would be no tax.

Q3: Can you send me or can I download an instruction and operation manual. I received the Motormax 90 with RA Motor Drive for Christmas and there is no instructions for operation! Thanks, Kevin Lenfest

A: you can download them directly from the Konus website.

Q4: How does this telescope compare with the Zhumell-eclipse 114 motor drive (sku ec001). ie which is the best?

A: that will depend specifically on your use. The motormax 90 is a 90mm (3.5") Maxutov-cassegrain, which means it will work well for both deepspace and for our solar system. The Zhumell however is 114mm (4.5")reflector. So if your interest is strictly deepspace viewing then get the Zhumell as it has a larger aperture. If your interest is not only deepspace then the motormax 90 would be a perfect choice.

Q5: with the Konus motor max 90 with RA motor drive it says it has astro photography does that mean it can take pictures and if it does how would you get them off? thanks.

A: Actually what that means is that you are able to adapt a camera to this telescope so that you are able to do astrophotography. The telescope does not have a built in camera.
