This telescope is a previous version to the current model Meade DS-2080LNT Telescope that sells for $349.00. This was a great opportunity for our customers to save big by having to do a little extra work...

On the new LNT version for $349.00 the telescope will automatically level the tube and point the telescope north for your alignment to the night sky. On this AT-TC version, the user must enter the date and time just like the LNT version, but then level the tripod and tube manually followed by pointing the telescope toward north.

The LNT version uses sensors to level the telescope and point it north, while this AT-TC version does not include those sensors. The user simply needs to take the time to level the tripod, level the tube and point the telescope toward north. For over 100$ in savings, its a small price to pay.
