A: The lenses in the Pirate scope are made of Glass.

Q2: We would like to buy a monocular to spot fish off a pier/beach - we were looking at the Alpen 20x50 waterproof mini-spotting scope or would you recommend this pirate spyglass and which is going to last longer at the beach?
