Which AstroMaster Telescope model best fits your needs?
If you're looking for a dual-purpose telescope appropriate for both terrestrial and celestial viewing, then the AstroMaster Series is for you. Each AstroMaster model is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. The AstroMaster Series produce bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors.
If your interest is strictly watching whales, spotting birds, viewing nature, or checking out your favorite star or planet the altazimuth-mounted models are ideal. Alt-Az models have a convenient pan handle with built-in clutch for easy targeting and smooth motion. Models featuring the German Equatorial mount are a good choice for viewing stars, nebulae, star clusters, and planets. Built-in setting circle aids in locating these objects.
When used for astronomical viewing, AstroMasters yield breathtaking views of the Moon, Saturn with its ring structure, Jupiter and its belts and moons, nebulae and star clusters.
Every instrument features all glass optical elements as well as smooth operating steel tripod mountings featuring manual motion controls. All models feature coated optics for enhanced image brightness and clarity.

Comments about Celestron AstroMaster 70 EQ Refractor Telescope:
This is a great refractor for the price. I bought it because it was equatorial mounted. Once you are align with Polaris, viewing is a breeze. Manually tracking objects with this EQ mount is much easier than doing so with an alt-az mounted scope. I am also very surprised about the quality of the eyepieces. Much better than I expected them to be. I've been using this refractor for checking out Jupiter. The views are crisp, and detail is easily seen. I would recommend buying the AstroMaster eyepiece set, too. I love using the 6mm Plossl. Through the 6mm Plossl eyepiece, Jupiter is about the size of a quarter when say it is on the floor and you're looking down at it. The bands were easily visible, even in the 20mm eyepiece. I'm starting to like this better than my goto Meade ETX 80! I would highly recommend this. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Celestron AstroMaster 70 EQ Refractor Telescope:
My aunt bought me this telescope a few months ago. This is my first telescope and I have been stargazing often with this awesome artifact. It's very good for begginers and it's easy to assemble. Good lens and construction material in general.
The only con is that it's is not very stable (when you use the tripod, of course).
But good telescope anyway.

Comments about Celestron AstroMaster 70 EQ Refractor Telescope:
This telescope is a sturdy well built beginner telescope. The only thing I see wrong with it is the rotating eye piece. It is screwed together by two pieces but tends to loosen when you rotate it from one side to the other then you need to tighten it up and reinstall.
