Q1: I need a telescope that you do not have to look into a separate eyepiece but straight through because of my having to wear bifocals. I had one that you looked into a side viewer but I could not focus the lens correctly and had to return it. Is the above model like that or do you have something else to fit my description? And what does the term, refractor mean? Thank you Judith DeBarr
A: This is the correct style of telescope that you should look for. A Refractor uses two lenses evenly spaced from one another to create an excellent optical image. because you look straight through it and it has the better optical image it is a much better telescope style to use if you wear glasses. I would suggest however getting a telescope (same style)with a larger objective lens than 30mm as you will get much better views. The term Refractor means that the light is Anything that refracts; specifically: (Opt.) A refracting telescope, in which the image to be viewed is formed by the refraction of light in passing through a convex lens.
Q2: will my 5 year old be able to see the stars and that with this scope?
A: Yes could definitely see the stars although the image will not be very good considering that it is only a 30mm telescope. That means that there is not much light gathering capability. i suggest looking at the Tasco Specialty series 100 X 50mm telescoope. It comes with a full size tripod and all accessories needed but mor importantly it has a 50mm lens which will allow for quite a bit better viewing.
Q3: were is the closest store to colac, victoria
A: Our only retail store is located in Duluth MN
Q4: Is Zhumell made in The United States?
A: Most of their items are made in Japan, and China.
Q5: I,am highschool student .I want a telescope that can give me good images of stars, comet etc.I want a good telescope because I am even doing an astronomy course online.Tell me such telescopes but which are not even too costly.
A: A good student's telescope is the Zhumell Eclipse 114. It's a 4.5-inch reflecting telescope with a good equatorial mount, very good optics and a motor drive. The drive will automate tracking of celestial objects so you can take photos of them. It will offer good, clear views with about 240X magnification. That's enough to give good views of the Moon, planets out through Saturn, star clusters and nearby galaxies and nebulae.
