We bought this set for our 8 year old son who is getting interested in space and the planets. He loves his new telescope and he loves the microscope just as much! He and dad have already looked at several "gross" things and are loving every minute. We haven't got to spend much time with the telescope yet (just too cold at night) but what we have done has been fairly simple. My sone just has a little bit of a hard time focusing it himself. But overall we LOVE this product! (espcially for the price)

I bought this as a starter for my grandsons. The quality is not there but I new that when I bought it.If they catch on to astronomy,we'll get something better. They were excited to see the moon and Jupiter in this scope and I admit it wasn't too bad.Not bad for the money.As a starter,I would recommend it.
The microscope was kind of cool. Once again,for the money it was ok.The kids loved it and that was what I hoped for.

Over-all a good starter telescope for a novice astronomer that wants to get closer to the stars.The only main problem is the instruction manual.When assembling, the illustrations were clear but the lack of identification of specific parts and lenses were not. So your going to have to figure out the various lenses.Really a great buy considering it comes with a Microscope and a Nice software disk.

We got this for my daughter's 8th birthday because she is really into science and could not wait to start using both her microscope and telescope. So far she loves it!
I would also like to add that Hayneedle was excellent, we received the package much faster than the expected arrival date.
